Framed Print "One day at a time."
Age 8: 2018
This is Owen’s handwriting. It was done the year of our diagnosis and the year he could trace letters well and write his first name on his own. Some of the children with this disease have never been able to or never will be able to write. These little markings of his will be something that I’ll always cherish more than I can explain. I had him trace this to remind us all to not allow our worries that don’t exist run our minds, to remind us that our purpose is greater than the pain, and to be able to calm our hearts, to remember to just take a breath. Enjoy this day and what it brings to you, what you need to do to get through it happily and healthy and nothing more.
Enjoy this print in your home and put it somewhere you’ll see it the most in your days.
You are so strong.
Take a single day at a time.
In our home, we’ve learned that life is short. Perspective is absolutely everything and that the truest of strength you have will come when you fail, fall and make mistakes. Taking ‘one day at a time’ has been our motto and encouraging others to find their purpose through the pain, no matter what it is you’ve been through or are currently going through. You are not defined by your past, you are not defined by your mistakes, you are not defined by your failures, not even through your words that you may have said or what others will think. What defines you as a person is something you may not have even found yet. And that’s okay. But once you find your purpose in the journey, you’ll have it all. You’ll become who you were created on this earth to be and you’ll be able to help so many others in theirs. Thank you so much for being here with us in our story. Welcome into our home, ‘the house on College Avenue.’
